Accenture Acquires Imaginea to Boost Cloud-Native Product and Platform Engineering

Accenture has agreed to acquire Imaginea, a Mountain View–based cloud-native product and platform engineering firm, adding approximately 1,350 cloud professionals and expanding Accenture Cloud First's capabilities across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. The deal — terms undisclosed — is expected to strengthen Accenture's cloud-native and full-stack engineering offerings to accelerate clients' cloud-first transformations.

Luminar Technologies Acquires OptoGration Inc.

Luminar Technologies has acquired its exclusive InGaAs photodetector design partner and specialized fabrication partner, OptoGration Inc., securing chip IP and production capacity to support series production of its Iris lidar sensor. The deal brings OptoGration’s founders into Luminar, secures roughly one million InGaAs chips per year capacity (expandable), and deepens integration with Luminar’s Black Forest Engineering assets to accelerate production and reduce costs.

Dynepic Acquires SurrealVR to Add Multi-Player 3D Training to DX Platform

Dynepic has acquired SurrealVR, a small virtual-reality platform pioneer, and is integrating SurrealVR's multi-player VR/AR capabilities into its DX training platform (including the USAF white-labeled MOTAR). The deal expands HOYA Vision Care’s product capabilities in polycarbonate, photochromic, polarized and high-index lens technologies and broadens its global manufacturing footprint across the United States, South Korea, China, Thailand and Indonesia.

Thorlabs Acquires JML Optical Industries

Thorlabs has agreed to acquire JML Optical Industries, a Rochester, New York-based designer and manufacturer of precision optics, with the deal expected to close in January 2023. JML will operate as Thorlabs Lens Systems (TLS) in Rochester, expanding Thorlabs' optics manufacturing footprint and QuickTurn optics capabilities; prior owner Five Points Capital is the selling party noted in reports.
