Summit BHC Acquires Highland Hospital

Summit BHC, a Franklin, Tennessee-based operator of addiction treatment and behavioral health centers, has acquired Highland Hospital, a 131-bed psychiatric facility in Charleston, West Virginia. The deal expands Summit's national network and represents its first facility in West Virginia and its second acquisition in 2020.

Acadia funded the transaction with cash on hand and borrowings under its revolving credit facility and said the deal extends its footprint in high-growth Missouri markets (St. Louis, Kansas City and Columbia).
