Heartland Payment Systems Acquires School-Link Technologies

Heartland Payment Systems’ School Solutions division acquired School-Link Technologies, a provider of K-12 school nutrition and point-of-sale (POS) solutions, to strengthen its K-12 payments and school nutrition product suite. The deal is part of a series of acquisitions (including LunchBox, Comalex and MySchoolBucks) that position Heartland as a market leader serving over 19,000 U.S. public schools.

Heartland Payment Systems has acquired ECSI, a Pittsburgh-based provider of payments processing and student loan services for higher education, adding more than 1,800 college and university relationships and retaining ECSI’s ~150+ employees. The acquisition expands Heartland’s Campus Solutions division by integrating ECSI’s payment, loan processing, refund, and campus card services into Heartland’s suite of campus offerings to drive capability and client-base growth in the higher education market.

The deal expands Heartland’s School Solutions division by adding MCS’s software products and its nationwide customer base of more than 4,000 K-12 schools, strengthening Heartland’s position in the K-12 payments and nutrition management market.

Acrisure Acquires Heartland Payroll Solutions from Global Payments for $1.1B

Acrisure has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Global Payments’ payroll business, Heartland Payroll Solutions, for $1.1 billion, a deal expected to close in the second half of 2025 subject to regulatory approvals. The acquisition will expand Acrisure’s payroll and HCM capabilities—bringing Heartland Payroll’s ~50,000 clients into Acrisure’s fintech ecosystem and advancing its strategy to broaden financial and back-office offerings for SMBs.

Titan Machinery (NASDAQ: TITN) has acquired Heartland AG Systems, Inc., the largest CASE IH application equipment distributorship in North America and a leading distributor of sprayer parts and accessories. D.A. Davidson served as exclusive financial advisor to Heartland; the sellers were Heartland's ownership group (including Bob Caldwell, Gordon Glade and Jeff Keller). The acquisition expands Titan's parts, service and distribution footprint across the Midwest and western U.S.
