ATL Partners and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) acquired Valence Surface Technologies LLC from Trive Capital Fund I. Valence, a Houston-based provider of aerospace surface finishing services with eight U.S. facilities, will be supported by ATL and BCI to expand capabilities, geographic footprint and pursue add-on growth opportunities.

Valence Surface Technologies, the largest independent aerospace surface finishing platform in North America, acquired Foresight Finishing, a Tempe, Arizona-based provider of precious metal surface treatment for aerospace and defense electronics. The add-on expands Valence's capabilities in tight-tolerance precious metal plating and provides regional presence in the A&D electronics supply chain; financial terms were not disclosed.

Electroplating (CIL), a Lawrence, Massachusetts-based metal finishing provider serving aerospace and defense OEMs. CIL, which employs approximately 160 people across two facilities, expands Valence's Northeast capabilities and represents the platform's eleventh add-on; the deal closed alongside a refinancing and CIL's management will remain in place.

Metal Finishing Technologies (MFT), a Bristol, Connecticut-based provider of metal finishing and specialty coating services, has acquired Aqua Blasting Corp., a Bloomfield, Connecticut shot peening and blasting specialist. The deal — the first acquisition under MFT’s partnership with Battle Investment Group — expands MFT’s surface treatment capabilities and vertically integrates surface enhancement services for aerospace, defense, medical and semiconductor customers.
