Atari SA Acquires Digital Eclipse

Atari SA has entered into an agreement to acquire Digital Eclipse, an Emeryville, California-based game development studio specializing in the digital restoration and preservation of classic video games. The purchase consideration includes an initial $6.5 million (US$4.0 million cash and US$2.5 million in newly issued Atari shares) plus an earn-out of up to $13.5 million payable over ten years; Digital Eclipse shareholders will hold approximately 4.6% of Atari following a reserved capital increase. The acquisition is intended to expand Atari's internal development capabilities and advance its retro-focused growth strategy.

Sony Interactive Entertainment Acquires Nixxes Software

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has completed the acquisition of Utrecht-based Nixxes Software B.V., a Dutch game development studio known for technical expertise in porting and optimization. Nixxes will join PlayStation Studios Technology, Creative & Services Group to provide in-house development and technical capabilities to support PlayStation Studios' exclusive titles; terms were not disclosed.

Informa PLC Acquires Industry Dive

Informa PLC has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Industry Dive, a U.S.-based B2B digital publisher and audience development firm, from Falfurrias Capital Partners. The deal, which adds Industry Dive's 27 specialist publications and digital marketing capabilities to Informa's portfolio, is expected to close in Q3 2022 subject to regulatory approval.

Industry Dive Acquires NewsCred's Content Marketing Studio and Services

Industry Dive, a portfolio company of Falfurrias Capital Partners, acquired NewsCred’s Content Marketing studio and services business, including assets, people and clients, while NewsCred will retain its software products. The deal transfers a team of about 40 former NewsCred employees to Industry Dive (to be led by Jane Qin Medeiros) and was supported by unitranche financing from Stellus Capital Management.
