Axcel (Alpine Investors) Acquires Accelebrate to Expand IT Training Portfolio

Axcel, the Alpine Investors‑backed professional education platform, has acquired Accelebrate, an Atlanta‑based IT training company, and will integrate it with its IT training business Web Age Solutions. Accelebrate founder Steve Heckler will remain involved as an advisor while Accelebrate works with Tim Toomey, CEO of Web Age, to scale instructor‑led on‑site and online training for financial services, government, and technology clients.

Axcel Learning, the professional education platform backed by Alpine Investors, has acquired ExitCertified, an instructor-led and self-paced IT training provider. The deal is an add-on to Axcel's growing portfolio of IT training businesses (which already includes Web Age Solutions and Accelebrate) and will see ExitCertified continue to operate under its brand while leveraging shared resources across the platform.

Luminate Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on enterprise software, announced a strategic growth investment in Axonify, a Waterloo-based leader in frontline employee training SaaS. The capital will be used to accelerate product innovation and other growth initiatives while Axonify continues to be led by CEO and co-founder Carol Leaman; Luminate partners will join the company’s board.
