Pion Inc Acquires Two Square Science

Pion Inc., a provider of analytical instruments for drug development and backed by SFW Capital, has acquired Two Square Science, a Fall River, Massachusetts company that designs sample preparation and lab monitoring equipment. The acquisition adds Two Square's PrepEngine and LabEye technologies to Pion's product portfolio to expand in vitro sample preparation and remote monitoring capabilities and accelerate customers' drug development workflows.

BBI Solutions Acquires IBEX Technologies Inc.

BBI Solutions OEM Limited has acquired IBEX Technologies Inc., a Montreal-based developer and manufacturer of high-precision enzymes and diagnostic solutions, with the transaction closing on April 8, 2024. The acquisition expands BBI's recombinant protein and enzyme capabilities to better serve in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) manufacturers and brings IBEX's staff and contract-manufacturing capabilities into BBI's global operations.

SFW Capital Partners completed a majority recapitalization of Pion Inc., a Billerica, Massachusetts-based provider of analytical instrumentation, software, reagents and services for pharmaceutical formulation development and quality control. Founders Mike and Sharon Kelly are reinvesting and will retain an ownership stake while Brian Dutko was named CEO as the company pursues product development, international expansion, enhanced sales and marketing, and strategic acquisitions.

Jabil has acquired Pharmaceutics International (Pii), a Hunt Valley, Maryland-based contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) that provides aseptic filling, lyophilization and oral solid dose manufacturing. The all-cash transaction represents an exit for a consortium led by Signet Healthcare Partners, Athyrium Capital Management, Hildred Capital and Pharmascience Inc., and brings Pii’s ~300+ employees and four-site campus into Jabil’s Pharmaceutical Solutions offering to expand its drug development and manufacturing capabilities.

VION Biosciences Acquires Echelon Biosciences
