PureTech Scientific (Iron Path Capital) Acquires Glycolic Acid Business from The Chemours Company for $137 Million

PureTech Scientific, a company founded and backed by Iron Path Capital, agreed to acquire The Chemours Company's Glycolic Acid business for $137 million in cash. The transaction (a carve-out/divestiture) closed in August 2023 and creates a standalone platform focused on high‑purity alpha hydroxy acids for life sciences, specialty chemicals and personal care end markets.

Black Bay Energy Capital Acquires Merichem Process Technologies & Catalyst Business (Merichem Technologies)

Black Bay Energy Capital acquired Merichem Company's technology business — Merichem Process Technologies and Merichem Catalyst Products — which will be renamed Merichem Technologies and operated as a standalone sulfur-treating platform. Merichem Company will retain its caustic services business while the new platform will be led by former Merichem technology leaders to expand sulfur-treatment capabilities across energy and industrial end markets.

Solenis Acquires CedarChem LLC

CedarChem, headquartered in Cedartown, Georgia, supplies water and wastewater treatment products to industrial and municipal customers in the southeastern United States; the deal expands Solenis' product and service capabilities and regional go-to-market presence.

Syros Pharmaceuticals Merges with TYME Technologies
