Meridian Waste Acquires Shotwell Companies (landfill, transfer stations, hauling assets)

Meridian Waste has closed the acquisition of the equity interests in the Shotwell Companies — including Shotwell Landfill Inc., several transfer station entities and associated hauling and commercial contracts — expanding Meridian’s operations into the greater Raleigh, North Carolina market. The deal, terms private, marks Meridian Waste’s first acquisition in North Carolina and its 11th since going private under Warren Equity Partners.

GreenWaste, a San Jose–based resource recovery and recycling company, acquired the assets of Hayward Transfer Station, a construction and demolition (C&D) transfer station in Hayward, California. The acquisition — GreenWaste's first since being acquired by a fund managed by Macquarie Asset Management — will expand service offerings and divert C&D material to GreenWaste's San Jose processing facilities to increase recycling and certified diversion.

Meridian Waste Acquisitions, LLC has acquired the stock of Evergreen Environmental Partners Holdings LLC (EEP) and ADSI Holdings LLC from BTG Pactual Strategic Capital, expanding Meridian Waste’s Southeast footprint. The deal adds the Noble Hill municipal solid waste landfill, an EEP transfer station, more than 50 municipal contracts and additional hauling, administrative and maintenance facilities servicing customers across Alabama and Mississippi; Meridian Waste will integrate the assets with support from its private equity partner Warren Equity Partners.
