ECI Partners Acquires Independent Governance Group (IGG)

ECI Partners has acquired Independent Governance Group (IGG), the UK provider of professional pensions trusteeship and governance services; LDC has exited its majority stake but has reinvested alongside ECI. Crescent Capital's European Specialty Lending strategy led the debt financing to support the transaction. IGG employs more than 200 people, serves 386 pension schemes with around £324bn of assets and will pursue further organic growth and acquisitions under ECI's ownership.

The deal — supported by IGG's private equity backer LDC — will allow IC Select to retain its brand and leadership while benefiting from IGG's resources and a new Scottish hub in Edinburgh.
