Sandvik Acquires Peterson Tool Company (assets)

Sandvik AB has signed an agreement to acquire the assets of Peterson Tool Company, Inc., a Nashville-based custom carbide tooling manufacturer that supplies machine-specific custom insert tooling for high-production turning and grooving. Peterson Tool (73 employees; ~$9m revenue in 2021) will be reported in Sandvik's GWS Tool business unit within Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions; the transaction was expected to close in Q2–Q3 2022.

Sandvik Acquires GWS Tool Group from L Squared Capital Partners

Sandvik AB has agreed to acquire GWS Tool Group from L Squared Capital Partners and GWS management; GWS will be reported within Walter, Sandvik's machining solutions division. GWS, a Tavares, Florida-based manufacturer of made-to-order cutting tools (including PCD tools and taps) with ~490 employees and nearly $100M in revenue, was grown via multiple add-ons under L Squared; the purchase price was not disclosed and the deal is expected to close in Q4 2021.

Sandvik Acquires ICAM Technologies Corporation

Sandvik AB has signed an agreement to acquire Canada-based ICAM Technologies Corporation, a provider of post-processing, machine simulation and tool-path optimization software for CNC machining. ICAM (founded in Montreal in 1971) will be reported within Sandvik Coromant; the company has about 27 employees and 2020 revenues of roughly SEK 30 million. The deal is expected to close in Q4 2021 and strengthens Sandvik's verification and optimization offering for component manufacturing.

Mno-DREK, LLC Acquires Walerko Tool & Engineering Corporation

Mno-DREK, LLC, a Dowagiac, Michigan-based holding company, has acquired Walerko Tool & Engineering Corporation of Elkhart, Indiana. The family-owned precision machining and tooling business, founded in 1952 and sold by owner Ed Walerko as part of his retirement, will be integrated into Mno-DREK’s portfolio to expand its precision machining and tooling capabilities across aerospace, automotive and industrial end markets.

Sandvik (Walter) Acquires PDQ Workholding LLC

Sandvik AB, through its Walter division, has acquired PDQ Workholding LLC, a U.S.-based specialist in custom workholding fixtures and tooling. The deal strengthens Sandvik/Walter's machining solutions offering—particularly in the Americas—by adding workholding capabilities that provide earlier access to component projects and complement its cutting-tool business.

Sandvik (Mastercam) Acquires Barefoot CNC, CAD/CAM Solutions, CamTech Engineering Services and CIMCO probing & post-processor business

Sandvik AB, via its Mastercam business unit, has acquired three US-based Mastercam channel partners — Barefoot CNC, CAD/CAM Solutions and CamTech Engineering Services — and the probing and post processor business lines from Denmark-based CIMCO Group. The deals strengthen Mastercam's regional presence across the U.S. Southeast and add CIMCO's probing and post-processor technology to Mastercam's product suite to expand digital manufacturing capabilities.
