Vertical Cold Storage Acquires MWCold

Vertical Cold Storage, a temperature-controlled warehousing platform sponsored by real estate investment firm Platform Ventures, has agreed to acquire MWCold, a fourth-generation, family-owned cold storage and logistics provider operating two facilities in central Indiana. The acquisition adds more than 545,000 square feet of multi-temperature, rail-served warehouse capacity (Indianapolis and Pendleton, IN) to Vertical Cold's Midwest footprint and will see MWCold CEO Tim Siddiq transition to an advisory role.

Vertical Cold Storage, sponsored by real estate asset manager Platform Ventures, has acquired Lone Star Cold Storage’s 227,331 sq. ft. temperature-controlled facility in Richardson, Texas. Terms were not disclosed; the acquisition expands Vertical Cold Storage’s U.S. network and provides Dallas–Fort Worth coverage, enabling reach to more than two-thirds of the U.S. within a two-day drive.

Americold Realty Trust (NYSE: COLD) has closed its acquisition of privately-held Chiller Holdco, LLC ("Cloverleaf Cold Storage"), adding a 22-facility portfolio (21 owned, 1 managed) totaling 132 million refrigerated cubic feet. The acquisition increases Americold's portfolio to over one billion refrigerated cubic feet and expands its temperature-controlled warehousing footprint and capabilities.

TorQuest Partners Acquires VersaCold Logistics Services

TorQuest Partners, together with co-investors The Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO) and OPTrust, completed the acquisition of VersaCold Logistics Services from KingSett Capital and Ivanhoé Cambridge. VersaCold's management (led by Mike Arcamone as CEO) rolled equity and will continue to operate the business as the new investors support growth of the company's temperature‑controlled warehousing and food logistics network in Canada.
