Vertical Cold Storage Acquires MWCold

Vertical Cold Storage, a temperature-controlled warehousing platform sponsored by real estate investment firm Platform Ventures, has agreed to acquire MWCold, a fourth-generation, family-owned cold storage and logistics provider operating two facilities in central Indiana. The acquisition adds more than 545,000 square feet of multi-temperature, rail-served warehouse capacity (Indianapolis and Pendleton, IN) to Vertical Cold's Midwest footprint and will see MWCold CEO Tim Siddiq transition to an advisory role.

Terms were not disclosed; the acquisition expands Vertical Cold Storage’s U.S. network and provides Dallas–Fort Worth coverage, enabling reach to more than two-thirds of the U.S. within a two-day drive.

Lineage Acquires Bellingham Cold Storage Warehouses

Lineage, Inc. acquired three temperature-controlled warehouses and related assets from Bellingham Cold Storage, representing approximately 24 million cubic feet of capacity and about 85,000 pallet positions across three Washington locations (Bellingham Waterfront, Orchard/I-5, and Burlington Dry). The deal expands Lineage’s Pacific Northwest network and provides a strategic footprint at the Port of Bellingham to better serve seafood, agriculture and broader food & beverage customers.

Vertical Cold Storage, a Platform Ventures‑sponsored developer and operator of temperature‑controlled distribution centers, has acquired Liberty Cold Storage in Bolingbrook, Illinois from West Liberty Foods. The deal—terms not disclosed—gives Vertical Cold a nearly 300,000 sq. ft. facility with intermodal access and strengthens its plan to build a national cold storage footprint while West Liberty Foods will remain a major customer.

RK Logistics Group Acquires Facility and Assets from Southwest Supply Chain Solutions

RK Logistics Group acquired a 79,000 square-foot climate-controlled warehouse and related assets (including freight contracts and a modest fleet) from Tempe-based Southwest Supply Chain Solutions, expanding RK's footprint in the greater Phoenix metro. The move positions RK to support growing semiconductor and EV battery manufacturing in Arizona and brings RK's full suite of warehousing, expedited transportation and technology-enabled logistics services to the Tempe site.
