Ben E. Keith Foods Acquires Florida Food Service

Ben E. Keith Foods acquired Florida Food Service, Inc., closing the transaction on February 2, 2022. The deal includes Florida Food Service's assets and its 86,000 sq. ft. distribution center in Gainesville, Florida; Ben E. Keith will retain all employees and convert the operation into its Florida Division to expand its footprint into northern and central Florida.

Kelso & Company Acquires Individual FoodService

Kelso & Company has acquired a majority equity interest in Individual FoodService (IFS), a Bell, California-based distributor of foodservice disposables, packaging and janitorial/sanitation products, from prior investor Sole Source Capital. Kelso said it will partner with IFS management to accelerate the company's acquisition strategy, expand capabilities and invest in operations; Kenneth Sweder was appointed Chairman of the IFS board.

Ben E. Keith Foods Acquires Orrell's Food Service (and JEM Foods)

Keith Foods has acquired Orrell's Food Service, Inc., including Orrell's 106,000 sq ft distribution center in Linwood, North Carolina, and JEM Foods, Inc., a meat processing plant also in Linwood. The purchase expands Ben E. Keith Foods' geographic footprint into North Carolina and strengthens its product and processing capabilities while retaining Orrell's employees.

Exponent Private Equity Acquires TRS and East End Foods (Vibrant Foods Platform)

Exponent Private Equity has acquired UK ethnic-food producers and distributors TRS and East End Foods and will integrate them into a single group operating under the Vibrant Foods platform. The combined business — headquartered outside London and led by Rohit Samani (Chairman) and Umesh Parmar (CEO) — will have a combined turnover of approximately £300m and will continue to operate the TRS and East End brand names.

GS Foods Group Acquires Hayes Distributing

GS Foods Group, a family of specialized foodservice distributors owned by affiliates of Highview Capital and A&M Capital Partners, has acquired Hayes Distributing to strengthen its presence in Northern California. The deal is an add-on to GS Foods' platform and is intended to expand the company's logistics, commodity expertise and school-nutrition offerings for K-12 customers in the San Francisco Bay Area.
