Ben E. Keith Foods Acquires Orrell's Food Service (and JEM Foods)

Ben E. Keith Foods has acquired Orrell's Food Service, Inc., including Orrell's 106,000 sq ft distribution center in Linwood, North Carolina, and JEM Foods, Inc., a meat processing plant also in Linwood. The purchase expands Ben E. Keith Foods' geographic footprint into North Carolina and strengthens its product and processing capabilities while retaining Orrell's employees.

B&G Foods Acquires Frozen Vegetable Manufacturing Operations of Growers Express

B&G Foods, Inc. acquired the frozen vegetable manufacturing operations of Growers Express, LLC, including inventory, equipment, a sublease for part of a Yuma, Arizona manufacturing facility and a lease for a warehouse in San Luis, Arizona. Approximately 155 employees will transfer to B&G Foods; the company also repurchased the master license agreement for certain Green Giant Fresh products. The transaction was funded with cash on hand and borrowings under B&G's existing credit facility; terms were not disclosed.

SpartanNash Acquires Great Lakes Foods

SpartanNash has acquired Great Lakes Foods, including its 300,000-square-foot distribution center in Menominee, Michigan. The facility, which serves roughly 100 independent grocery customers and employs 125 associates, will be integrated into SpartanNash's supply chain to expand geographic reach and enhance service offerings.
