Transatlantic healthcare private equity firm ARCHIMED has purchased a majority stake in Monheim, Germany-based Cube (Cube Biotech), a specialist provider of high-purity, stable membrane proteins for drug discovery. ARCHIMED will support Cube's US market expansion and broaden its product and service offering organically and via acquisitions while Cube's founding management remain significant shareholders and continue to lead the business.

BBI Solutions Acquires IBEX Technologies Inc.

BBI Solutions OEM Limited has acquired IBEX Technologies Inc., a Montreal-based developer and manufacturer of high-precision enzymes and diagnostic solutions, with the transaction closing on April 8, 2024. The acquisition expands BBI's recombinant protein and enzyme capabilities to better serve in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) manufacturers and brings IBEX's staff and contract-manufacturing capabilities into BBI's global operations.

European healthcare-focused private equity firm ArchiMed completed three simultaneous transactions to create a market leader in bioanalytical services: it acquired French molecular-imaging and bioanalysis specialist ImaBiotech and Colorado Springs-based Pyxant Labs, while Pyxant also acquired LabCorp/Covance's Salt Lake City bioanalytical and oligonucleotide studies site. The combined moves expand ArchiMed's capabilities and North American footprint in bioanalytical testing for clinical trials.

Bruker Corporation has acquired biocrates life sciences ag, an Innsbruck, Austria-based leader in mass-spectrometry-based quantitative metabolomics. The deal adds biocrates' metabolomics kits, assays, software and contract research services to Bruker's multiomics strategy, expanding Bruker's MS-based metabolomics and integrated multiomics capabilities. Financial terms were not disclosed.

ImmunoPrecise Antibodies Acquires Belgian BioStrand, BioKey and BioClue

ImmunoPrecise Antibodies Ltd. (IPA), through its subsidiary ImmunoPrecise Netherlands BV, completed the acquisition of BioStrand BV, BioKey BV and BioClue BV, a group of Belgian bioinformatics and biotech companies. The deal (approx. €20 million consideration plus up to €12 million earnout and a €6 million investment commitment) adds AI-driven multi-omics analytics and software capabilities to IPA's antibody discovery and biotherapeutics platform.
