Apptio, a Bellevue-based technology business management software company, completed the acquisition of Cloudability, a Portland-based leader in multi-cloud financial management, on May 31, 2019. The deal adds Cloudability’s FinOps capabilities — which manage more than $9 billion in enterprise cloud spend and serve 250+ enterprise customers — to Apptio’s portfolio to deliver an integrated, cloud-agnostic cost and financial-management solution.

Thoma Bravo Acquires Majority Interest in Apttus

Thoma Bravo signed a definitive agreement to acquire a majority interest in Apttus, a San Mateo–based provider of Quote-to-Cash, Contract Lifecycle Management and Middle Office software. The deal (expected to close in early October 2018) will pair Apttus’ enterprise revenue-management platform with Thoma Bravo’s software operating experience to accelerate growth and scale; financial and legal advisors and financing partners were disclosed but financial terms were not.

Carbon60 Acquires OpsGuru

Carbon60, a Canadian managed cloud hosting provider backed by M/C Partners, has acquired OpsGuru, a Vancouver-based multi-cloud and DevOps consultancy. The deal expands Carbon60's multi-cloud transformation and managed services capabilities across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, creating a combined organization of more than 160 employees.

IBM Acquires Apptio Inc.

IBM has acquired Apptio Inc. from Vista Equity Partners for $4.6 billion, adding Apptio's FinOps and cloud cost-management SaaS capabilities to IBM's IT automation and watsonx AI portfolio. The deal is intended to create a 360-degree technology business management platform, drive synergies across IBM's automation, Red Hat and consulting businesses, and augment IBM's AI/data capabilities with Apptio's anonymized IT spend data.

Catalyst Clinical Research Acquires Aptus Clinical

Catalyst Clinical Research, a portfolio company of NovaQuest Capital Management, has acquired U.K.-based Aptus Clinical to accelerate Catalyst's European expansion and broaden its oncology and early-phase clinical services. The deal creates a multi-region CRO operating across North America and Europe, increases Catalyst's patient reach by nearly 600 and lifts combined headcount to more than 800.

UPSTACK Acquires Cloudnexion
