Apptio Acquires Cloudability

Apptio, a Bellevue-based technology business management software company, completed the acquisition of Cloudability, a Portland-based leader in multi-cloud financial management, on May 31, 2019. The deal adds Cloudability’s FinOps capabilities — which manage more than $9 billion in enterprise cloud spend and serve 250+ enterprise customers — to Apptio’s portfolio to deliver an integrated, cloud-agnostic cost and financial-management solution.

Apptio Acquires Cloudwiry

Apptio, Inc. has acquired Cloudwiry, an Austin-based FinOps and multi-cloud cost-optimization SaaS provider. The deal (closed December 22, 2022) will integrate Cloudwiry’s automated reservation and savings-plan optimization capabilities into Apptio’s Cloudability offering to expand Apptio’s cloud cost-optimization and FinOps functionality.

The acquisition adds SaaSLicense's automatic SaaS usage and spending detection to Apptio's existing Cloudability and broader portfolio to help customers manage SaaS spend and compliance.

IBM Acquires Kubecost

IBM Acquires Accelalpha

IBM has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Accelalpha, a Bellevue-based Oracle Cloud Applications consultancy, from Century Park Capital Partners and other equityholders. The deal, expected to close in Q4 2024 pending customary approvals, will expand IBM Consulting's Oracle Cloud and supply‑chain/finance implementation and managed‑services capabilities; financial terms were not disclosed.

IBM to Acquire Turbonomic

IBM announced a definitive agreement to acquire Turbonomic, a Boston-based Application Resource Management (ARM) and Network Performance Management (NPM) software provider. The acquisition expands IBM’s hybrid cloud and AI capabilities by adding Turbonomic’s AIOps-driven optimization and observability technology to IBM’s Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps and Instana offerings.
