IBM Acquires Apptio Inc.

IBM has acquired Apptio Inc. from Vista Equity Partners for $4.6 billion, adding Apptio's FinOps and cloud cost-management SaaS capabilities to IBM's IT automation and watsonx AI portfolio. The deal is intended to create a 360-degree technology business management platform, drive synergies across IBM's automation, Red Hat and consulting businesses, and augment IBM's AI/data capabilities with Apptio's anonymized IT spend data.
