Carbon60, a PE-backed managed cloud services provider, has acquired Cirrus9, a Saint John, New Brunswick-based managed cloud and hosting provider, to establish an Atlantic Canada presence and create a national footprint. The deal, completed with support from advisor RBC, expands Carbon60’s managed public/private cloud, hosting and security capabilities for Canadian enterprise and public-sector clients.

M/C Partners Acquires Carbon60 Networks and Gossamer Threads to Form Carbon60 Platform

Boston-based private equity firm M/C Partners has acquired Toronto-based Carbon60 Networks and Vancouver-based Gossamer Threads, combining the two managed cloud services providers under the Carbon60 Networks name. The deal provides liquidity to selling shareholders and injects growth capital to scale the combined platform across Canada, expand technical capabilities (AWS/Azure/private cloud) and pursue further strategic acquisitions.

Aptum Acquires Montreal-based CloudOps

The acquisition, completed January 5, 2023, expands Aptum's DevOps, cloud migration and hybrid multi-cloud orchestration capabilities while retaining CloudOps as a separate unit with its Montreal headquarters.

Pluralsight Acquires A Cloud Guru

Pluralsight, backed by Vista Equity Partners, acquired A Cloud Guru (ACG), a leading cloud skills development and hands-on learning platform, to create an all-in-one solution for cloud skill development across enterprise and individual customers. The deal, announced in June 2021 and closed July 8, 2021, combines ACG's certification courses, labs and sandboxes with Pluralsight Skills to expand Pluralsight's cloud capabilities and better serve large enterprise customers.
