Resonetics Acquires Memry Corporation and SAES Smart Materials

Resonetics (backed by Carlyle and GTCR) agreed to acquire Memry Corporation and the SAES Medical Nitinol business (SAES Smart Materials) from SAES Getters S.p.A., a deal valued at $900 million and completed in 2023. The transaction expands Resonetics' nitinol material and component manufacturing capabilities across facilities in Bethel, Connecticut; New Hartford, New York; and Menlo Park, California, adding roughly 550–600 employees and enhanced EDM, laser processing, tubing, wire and melt-to-component capabilities for medical device customers.

The deal strengthens Polymatech's semiconductor capabilities by combining Nisene's silicon and silicon carbide expertise with Polymatech's sapphire-wafer technologies to develop multi-wafer semiconductor products and advanced chip fabrication/testing devices.
