The investment will fund the development, ownership and expansion of city-scale district heating networks across the UK, supporting projects such as the Greenwich Peninsula network and accelerating the transition to low-carbon heat.

CVC DIF Acquires 49% Stake in BALANCE Erneuerbare Energien from VNG AG

CVC DIF (via the DIF Infrastructure VII fund) has agreed to acquire a 49% stake in BALANCE Erneuerbare Energien, the biogas subsidiary of Leipzig-based VNG AG, in a growth partnership to support the business’s expansion. BALANCE operates 42 biogas facilities in northern and eastern Germany (≈197 MW thermal) and supplies green energy to roughly 180,000 households; the transaction is subject to antitrust approval.

The consortium said it will partner with management to accelerate Hargreaves Lansdown’s transformation plan, investing in technology, digital channels and service enhancements to improve the client proposition and drive growth in the UK wealth market.
