Foster Farms—employing about 10,000 people and generating roughly $3 billion in annual revenue—will continue to operate under its name, with Donnie Smith (former Tyson Foods CEO) named CEO and chairman.

Pete & Gerry's Organics Acquires Farmers Hen House

The acquisition adds over 90 partner family farms and a modern processing facility in Iowa, increasing Pete & Gerry's packing capacity and supporting growth across the Midwest and West; terms were not disclosed.

Taylor Farms Acquires Natures Way Foods

Taylor Farms, a family-owned North American fresh foods producer, has acquired Natures Way Foods, a Chichester, England-based manufacturer of fresh prepared salads and convenience foods. The acquisition marks Taylor Farms' first major expansion into the United Kingdom; Natures Way Foods (approximately 1,300 employees) will retain its existing management and workforce.

Saco Foods Acquires Hoosier Hill Farm (Add-on to Benford Capital Portfolio)

Bowling Green-based Houchens Industries acquired 10 operating Slim Chickens franchise locations and the rights to develop 29 additional Slim Chickens sites across Kentucky from a group led by Tennessee franchisee Harold Wallace. The deal expands Houchens’ Slim Chickens footprint to a total of 42 locations and supports the company’s broader restaurant franchising growth in Kentucky.
