Westlake Chemical Acquires Boral's North American Building Products Businesses

Westlake Chemical Corporation completed the acquisition of Boral Limited's North American building products businesses (roofing; siding, trim and shutters; decorative stone; and windows) for $2.15 billion in an all-cash transaction. The deal roughly doubles Westlake's building-products portfolio, adds approximately 4,600 employees across 29 manufacturing sites in the United States and Mexico, and broadens Westlake's product lines and geographic footprint in the North American housing and light commercial markets.

Westbridge Capital Ltd. Acquires sliBuy Inc.

Westbridge Capital Ltd. has completed the acquisition of sliBuy Inc., a Shorewood, Illinois-based no-reserve online auction marketplace that purchases and resells store-level inventory from major US retailers. Founder Michael Ringelsten will remain as a shareholder and director, and Steve Fitzgerald has been appointed CEO; Westbridge says it will provide financial and operational support to accelerate growth and diversify its portfolio.

WestBridge and Eque2 Management Acquire Eque2 from LDC for £46.5m

WestBridge has backed Eque2’s senior management team in a £46.5m management buyout that provides an exit for LDC and other institutional shareholders. Funds managed by WestBridge invested approximately £29m for a c.75% stake; management (led by CEO Justin Moule and COO Peter Davidson) will continue to run and grow the UK-based construction software business serving over 2,700 customers.

West Coast Lumber Acquires Stone Truss

West Coast Lumber (WCL), the regional lumber and building materials platform backed by Building Industry Partners, has acquired San Diego–based Stone Truss, a 30-year-old designer and manufacturer of wood roof and floor truss systems. The acquisition expands WCL’s product offering into structural component manufacturing and retains Stone Truss owners Richard Thomas and Charlie Signorino on the team.

OrePac Building Products Acquires Western Timber Products

OrePac Building Products, a family-owned wholesale supplier based in Wilsonville, Oregon, has agreed to acquire Western Timber Products, a specialty softwood lumber and custom millwork manufacturer headquartered in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The deal, announced Feb. 26, 2024, is expected to close around early April 2024 and will keep Western Timber's owner Dan Seid involved to assist in the transition.
