The partnership could deploy more than $5 billion over five years to support over 20 GW of new generation and 10+ GWh of storage, targeting utilities, data center developers and hyperscalers across North America.

Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Embedded Power business of Artesyn Embedded Technologies from Platinum Equity for approximately $400 million. The divestiture (sale of a business unit) expands Advanced Energy's power-conversion product portfolio and brings Artesyn's AC-DC and DC-DC power supply offerings into Advanced Energy's precision power platform; the deal was expected to close in H2 2019 pending regulatory approvals.

The deal adds APS's manufacturing facility in Gniezno, Poland and expands Energizer's footprint and manufacturing optionality across key European markets including Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland and Spain.

Sensata Technologies Acquires Spear Power Systems

Sensata Technologies has agreed to acquire Spear Power Systems, a Grandview, Missouri-based developer and manufacturer of advanced energy storage systems, to advance Sensata's electrification strategy. The deal (financial terms undisclosed) brings Spear's team — including more than 40 engineers — and its battery management and energy storage capabilities into Sensata to expand its clean energy and OEM solutions.

Enphase Energy Acquires SolarLeadFactory LLC

ALLETE Acquires New Energy Equity

ALLETE, Inc. (NYSE:ALE) has closed its acquisition of New Energy Equity, a distributed and community solar developer based in Annapolis, Maryland, for approximately $165.5 million. New Energy Equity has completed more than 250 distributed solar projects totaling over 330 MW and brings a ~2 GW development pipeline across 26 states; the company's management team and headquarters will remain in place.
