Urban Elevator Service, a large independent elevator contracting firm, acquired Guardian Elevator Mechanical Services, a San Diego-based full-service elevator contractor founded in 2005. The acquisition expands Urban Elevator's footprint in Southern California by adding San Diego as a new operation and brings Guardian's staff and capabilities into Urban Elevator's platform (Urban Elevator is PE-backed by Skydeck Capital).

Evolution founder Lou James and the company's mechanics will remain in place as Axxiom integrates the business to expand its geographic footprint and service capabilities in New York and New Jersey.

Advent International and Cinven have completed the acquisition of thyssenkrupp's Elevator Technology business (thyssenkrupp Elevator) from thyssenkrupp AG, with thyssenkrupp AG retaining a substantial minority stake. The global elevator and escalator manufacturer and service provider is headquartered in Germany and will pursue growth through geographic expansion, strategic acquisitions, and investment in R&D backed by the Consortium's financial resources.
