Carlyle Acquires Majority Stake in Waste Services Group from Livingbridge

Global investment firm Carlyle has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Australian waste management company Waste Services Group (WSG) from Livingbridge, which will retain a significant minority and reinvest. WSG operates in the commercial and industrial waste and liquid waste segments, serving over 10,000 customers and employing over 600 people; Carlyle plans to support geographic expansion and broaden WSG’s service offering across Australia.

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. signed an asset purchase agreement to acquire the assets of Consolidated Waste Services, LLC (dba Twin Bridges) for approximately $219 million in cash. The deal includes two collection operations, a transfer station, a materials recovery facility (MRF) and other properties, and is expected to generate about $70 million of annualized revenue and close by Q4 2023.
