Carlyle Acquires Majority Stake in Waste Services Group from Livingbridge

Global investment firm Carlyle has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Australian waste management company Waste Services Group (WSG) from Livingbridge, which will retain a significant minority and reinvest. WSG operates in the commercial and industrial waste and liquid waste segments, serving over 10,000 customers and employing over 600 people; Carlyle plans to support geographic expansion and broaden WSG’s service offering across Australia.

TAS Environmental Services, a Fund IV portfolio company of Blue Point Capital Partners, acquired Specialized Waste Systems (SWS) of Channelview, Texas in a transaction that closed in late December 2019. SWS — founded in 1978 with more than 70 employees and over $32 million in annual revenue — provides hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, transportation, container rental and washout services; the deal is TAS's third add-on since Blue Point acquired the platform in May 2019.

Blue Point Capital Partners-backed TAS Environmental Services has acquired Environmental Concepts & Services (ECS), a family-owned waste transportation and non-hazardous waste treatment provider based in Springfield, Tennessee. The acquisition is the fifth add-on for the TAS platform since Blue Point's 2019 investment and expands TAS' wastewater and waste treatment capabilities across the Southern United States.

WSB LLC Acquires CAS Consulting & Services, Inc.

WSB LLC, a GHK Capital-backed national design and consulting firm, has acquired CAS Consulting & Services, a multidisciplinary civil engineering firm headquartered in Austin, Texas. The add-on brings four offices and 38 employees to WSB and strengthens its water/wastewater, water resources and construction management capabilities while expanding WSB's presence in Texas and the southwestern United States.
