Cortec Group Acquires Enthusiast Auto Holdings from Bertram Capital

Cortec Group, through an affiliate of Cortec Group Fund VII, acquired Enthusiast Auto Holdings (EAH), a Wadsworth, Ohio–based digitally native e‑commerce platform in the automotive aftermarket. The transaction, announced as completed in January 2020 (signed December 19, 2019), was a platform investment for Cortec Fund VII; terms were not disclosed and senior debt was provided by Antares Capital, NXT Capital and First Eagle Investment Management.

Enthusiast Auto Holdings Acquires EVANNEX

Enthusiast Auto Holdings (EAH), a Cortec-backed e-commerce platform, acquired Teslaccessories, LLC d/b/a EVANNEX, a Deerfield Beach, Florida-based direct-to-consumer retailer of aftermarket Tesla and electric vehicle accessories. EVANNEX’s president Matt Pressman will continue to manage the business; EAH said it will support EVANNEX with digital marketing, operations, R&D and technology to broaden the product catalog and accelerate growth. Terms were not disclosed.

Enthusiast Auto Holdings (EAH) acquired a majority stake in Z1 Motorsports on November 3, 2020, in partnership with Z1 management. Z1, a Carrollton, Georgia–based direct-to-consumer e-commerce retailer of Nissan and Infiniti performance parts, will continue to be led by Founder and President Russell Floyd as EAH supports scaling through digital marketing, technology, and operations expertise.

L Catterton-led Consortium Acquires Controlling Interest in Truck Hero

A consortium led by consumer-focused private equity firm L Catterton — including a wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), Mubadala Investment Company and StepStone Group — has agreed to acquire a controlling interest in Truck Hero, Inc. CCMP Capital and Truck Hero founder/CEO Bill Reminder will remain meaningful investors. Truck Hero, headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is a leading manufacturer and marketer of branded aftermarket truck and Jeep accessories and operates the direct-to-consumer site RealTruck.com; the deal was expected to close in Q1 2021.

Lippert Components (LCI) Acquires CURT Group from Audax Private Equity

CURT Group, headquartered in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, is a designer, manufacturer and distributor of towing and truck accessory products and will expand LCI's aftermarket product portfolio and market position.

Electrical Components International (ECI) Acquires Omni Connection International

Electrical Components International (ECI), a portfolio company of Cerberus Capital Management, acquired Omni Connection International, a wire-harness and connection-systems manufacturer serving tier-one automotive suppliers. The deal adds Omni’s engineering capabilities and global manufacturing footprint (approximately 1,300 employees across the U.S., China, and the Philippines) to ECI to support growth in automotive electronics and ADAS applications.
