Niantic has acquired WebAR development platform 8th Wall and will integrate the 8th Wall team into Niantic’s AR engineering organization while keeping the 8th Wall platform available as a standalone offering. The deal expands Niantic’s Lightship tooling and WebAR capabilities to better serve developers, brands and agencies building real-world augmented-reality experiences.
