TekniPlex Healthcare Acquires Seisa Medical

TekniPlex Healthcare has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Seisa Medical, a full-service contract manufacturer of Class II and III medical devices headquartered in El Paso, Texas. The deal expands TekniPlex Healthcare’s materials science and process technology capabilities into the medical device CDMO segment, adding Seisa’s ~2,000 employees and facilities in the U.S., Mexico and Slovakia; the closing is subject to regulatory approval.

OrthoPediatrics Corp. Acquires Pega Medical

OrthoPediatrics Corp. agreed to acquire Pega Medical for up to $33 million (approximately $31 million cash plus $2 million in stock) to expand its pediatric trauma and deformity product portfolio, including the Fassier‑Duval Telescopic IM System. The deal brings Pega Medical — a pediatric orthopedic implant developer based near Montreal, Canada — into OrthoPediatrics' global offering and will be financed in part by an expanded credit facility.

The combined clinical-stage company will retain the Galecto name, be incorporated in the United States, and combine complementary pipelines in fibrosis and oncology to accelerate development of small-molecule and galectin-targeting therapeutics.

The transaction, which closed on April 8, 2025, creates a next-generation, global orthopedic device development and manufacturing platform offering private-label implantable devices, instrumentation, design, regulatory and advanced manufacturing capabilities.

BD Acquires Edwards Lifesciences' Critical Care Product Group

The deal expands BD's smart connected care portfolio with advanced monitoring technologies and AI-enabled clinical decision tools, and aligns the new unit within BD's Medical segment to enable integration with BD's infusion platforms and future closed-loop monitoring innovations.
