Western States Reclamation Acquires Ecological Resource Consultants

Western States Reclamation LLC (a portfolio company of Strength Capital Partners) has acquired Ecological Resource Consultants, Inc., a Lakewood, Colorado-based engineering and ecological science firm focused on water-resource and mining-related projects. The acquisition is an add-on to WSR intended to expand its geographic reach and service offering across environmental and water-resources projects in the Western United States and globally for mining clients.

Financing partners for the transaction included KeyBank, Northcreek Mezzanine and Midwest Mezzanine; the Pott family will retain an ownership stake and the existing management team will remain in place as Strength supports geographic expansion and new product/channel initiatives.

Western States Reclamation Acquires Naranjo Civil Constructors to Form Western States Water

Western States Reclamation (a portfolio company of Strength Capital Partners) has completed the acquisition of Naranjo Civil Constructors and combined Naranjo with WSR and WSR subsidiary Ecological Resource Consultants under the newly formed Western States Water. The deal expands WSR’s environmental reclamation and specialty civil contracting capabilities, adding Naranjo’s expertise in natural waterways, urban drainage and structural concrete, and integrates a workforce of over 100 employees.

Strength Capital Partners Acquires Kelchner, Inc.

Strength Capital Partners, a U.S. private investment firm, acquired Kelchner, Inc., a Springboro, Ohio-based excavation and civil construction services provider, from John Wood Group PLC. Strength will partner with CEO Kevin Weckel to pursue organic growth and strategic acquisitions in the Southwest Ohio market; financing for the transaction included First Commonwealth Bank, Northcreek Mezzanine, and Eagle Private Capital.

Strength Capital Partners has made an investment in CALco Pallet Company, a vertically integrated wooden pallet manufacturer headquartered in Richmond, Illinois. Midwest Mezzanine participated with subordinated debt and equity and financing partners included Byline Bank and Northcreek Mezzanine; the deal establishes CALco as a PE-backed platform for Strength's buy-and-build consolidation strategy with founders Matt and Greg Calhoun remaining in leadership.

Valicor Environmental Services Acquires Strength Environmental

Valicor Environmental Services, a portfolio company of Pritzker Private Capital, has acquired Strength Environmental, LLC, a non-hazardous waste and centralized wastewater treatment provider headquartered in Inkster, Michigan. The acquisition expands Valicor’s treatment footprint and adds Strength Environmental’s PFAS/PFOA treatment and disposal capabilities in Southeast Michigan.
