Wide Group Acquires Milan-based Assileo Broker

Wide Group, a Pollen Street-backed insurance broking consolidator, has acquired Assileo Broker Srl, a Milan-based commercial insurance broker with capabilities across transportation, construction, energy and corporate insurance and a presence in Milan and Genoa. The deal expands Wide Group's scale and specialist capability in the Milan market and adds geographic reach into Genoa as part of its ongoing consolidation strategy in Italy.

AIC—specializing in construction and engineering insurance and with intermediated premiums growing from €8m in 2019 to an expected ~€40m in 2024—will join Wide Group with senior AIC leadership joining as partners while founder Alessandro D'Ilario remains involved.

AnaCap Takes Majority Stake in Italian Insurance Broking Platform Edge Group

AnaCap has acquired a majority stake in Milan-headquartered Edge Group, an insurance broker and MGA that provides broking, risk management and welfare solutions to corporate clients across Italy. AnaCap will partner with founder and CEO Manfredo Sciarretta to build Edge as a consolidation platform and accelerate organic and inorganic growth, supporting further bolt-on acquisitions to expand gross written premiums and capabilities.
