Huntington Ingalls Industries Acquires Alion Science and Technology

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) agreed to acquire Alion Science and Technology from Veritas Capital for $1.65 billion in cash. Alion — a defense-focused engineering, R&D and systems-integration provider with more than 3,200 employees — will join HII’s Technical Solutions division to expand capabilities in C5ISR, training & simulation, AI, data analytics and electronic warfare.

The acquisition expands Titan's ship repair capabilities and geographic footprint in a major U.S. naval port to better serve defense and commercial maritime customers; closing is expected in Q2 and financial terms were not disclosed.
