Altair has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire all outstanding capital stock of Metrics Design Automation Inc., a Canadian provider of cloud-native simulation-as-a-service (DSim) for electronic design automation (EDA). The acquisition adds cloud-based digital simulation and scalable design verification capabilities to Altair's Altair One platform, expanding its EDA and semiconductor software offerings; closing is subject to customary conditions.

The all-cash transaction values Altium at approximately A$9.1 billion and brings Altium’s Altium 365 cloud capabilities into Renesas to accelerate a system-level electronics design and lifecycle management platform and advance Renesas' digitalization strategy.

Altair Acquires OmniQuest

Altair (Nasdaq: ALTR) acquired OmniQuest, a Novi, Michigan-based developer of Genesis, an advanced structural optimization and finite-element analysis software. The deal adds OmniQuest's optimization algorithms and expertise—used across automotive, motorsport (Formula 1) and aerospace applications—to Altair's simulation and AI product portfolio to strengthen its optimization capabilities.
