Medtronic plc acquired SonarMed, a Purdue‑bred developer of the SonarMed airway monitoring system, in December 2020. The acquisition adds continuous acoustic airway monitoring technology for neonatal and pediatric ventilation to Medtronic's respiratory/medical surgical portfolio to help detect endotracheal tube obstruction and position in real time.

iT2 Acquires Sonitus Technologies to Launch Wearable Communications Company

Integrated Tactical Technologies (iT2) has launched via the acquisition of Sonitus Technologies and a manufacturing partnership with Bluewater Defense to develop miniaturized wearable communication and sensing systems for defense, commercial and consumer markets. The deal combines Sonitus' proprietary Molar Mic communications and biometric sensing platform, standing contracts and IP with Bluewater Defense's apparel manufacturing and supply-chain capabilities; terms were not disclosed.

Bruker Corporation Acquires ZONTAL Inc.

Bruker Corporation has closed the acquisition of ZONTAL Inc., a provider of a GxP-compliant life-sciences data platform, to strengthen Bruker BioSpin's Integrated Data Solutions (IDS) software portfolio. The deal (terms not disclosed) will integrate ZONTAL's vendor-agnostic laboratory and process data management capabilities with Bruker's Mestrelab, Arxspan and Optimal offerings to accelerate digital laboratory transformation for biopharma and life-science customers; ZONTAL expected 2023 revenues of greater than $5 million.

MeridianLink Acquires Certain Assets of TazWorks

MeridianLink has signed a definitive agreement to acquire certain assets of TazWorks, the developer of the TazCloud background screening platform and suite of screening applications. The acquisition is intended to complement MeridianLink’s Mortgage Credit Link business and accelerate product development and API capabilities for consumer reporting agencies and screening customers.

Iptor Acquires TimberTec

Stockholm-based Iptor acquired German TimberTec, a provider of ERP and MES software for the timber industry, in a deal that closed in February 2022. The acquisition is an add-on in Iptor's buy-and-build strategy (backed by funds advised by Bregal Unternehmerkapital) and aims to expand Iptor’s sector capabilities and geographic reach across Europe and into the US.

Intelerad Medical Systems Acquires Digisonics, Inc.

Intelerad Medical Systems, a Montreal-based medical imaging software provider backed by Hg, has acquired Digisonics, Inc., a Houston-based provider of cardiovascular and obstetrics/gynecology information and structured reporting systems. The acquisition will integrate Digisonics' reporting and clinical interpretation capabilities into Intelerad's enterprise imaging platform to eliminate silos, improve physician workflow efficiency, and strengthen Intelerad's hospital and health system offering.
