WHP Telecoms (Equistone-backed) Acquires Sitec Infrastructure Services

Equistone-backed WHP Telecoms has completed the acquisition of Sitec Infrastructure Services Ltd, bringing together two UK telecoms infrastructure businesses to broaden WHP's service capabilities and provide entry into the fibre market. The combined group will have turnover in excess of £100m and around 500 employees, and the deal is WHP's first acquisition since its 2018 Equistone-backed management buyout.

WHP Telecoms Limited, a Warrington-based infrastructure and deployment services provider backed by Equistone Partners Europe, has acquired Intelligent Communications Solutions Ltd (ICS Group), a Braintree-based telecom rigging installations and design business. The bolt-on strengthens WHP's in-house design and build capability and follows two other recent acquisitions as part of an accelerated buy-and-build strategy to support 5G and fibre rollout across the UK.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has completed the acquisition of Athonet, a Vicenza, Italy–based private cellular/mobile core software provider, integrating Athonet’s private 4G/5G core technology into HPE’s edge-to-cloud, Aruba networking and GreenLake offerings. The deal strengthens HPE’s private 5G capability, enabling integrated Wi‑Fi and private 5G deployments for enterprises and communications service providers and accelerating go-to-market at global scale.

Enghouse Systems Acquires Sixbell's Telco Division

Enghouse Systems Limited acquired the telecommunications division ("Sixbell Telco") of Sixbell, a Santiago-headquartered provider of OSS/BSS and network transformation software for Latin American operators. The deal transfers Sixbell's telecom customers, partners and employees to Enghouse and is intended to expand Enghouse's capabilities and presence in the Latin American telecom market.
