Ahern Agribusiness, a San Diego–based vegetable seed distributor focused on Mexico and Central America, was acquired by an Israeli investment group led by Tene Investment Funds and Pulse Agri Investments. The new owners plan to expand Ahern’s product portfolio, add AI-powered technologies and advanced biological inputs to accelerate growth; CEO Kevin Ahern will remain in his role.

GrowerIQ Acquires Ample Organics from Akerna

Toronto-based GrowerIQ has acquired fellow cannabis software provider Ample Organics from U.S.-based Akerna in an all-cash deal that closed in December; financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition brings Ample's seven employees onto GrowerIQ's ~25-person team and combines two seed-to-sale ERP platforms to create what GrowerIQ calls the largest cannabis tech platform in Canada (and a stronger position in Europe).
