Shore Points Capital, a New York–based private equity firm, has acquired Newport Systems Inc., a Wall, New Jersey–headquartered provider of software and mobile technologies for the intermodal transportation industry. Robert Morton, formerly Executive Vice President, was promoted to President and joined the company's board as Shore Points said it will support Newport's continued growth and product development.

AIS Global Acquires Touch International, Inc.

AIS Global (a portfolio company of KPS Mid-Cap / KPS Capital Partners) has acquired Touch International, Inc., a North American manufacturer of engineered touchscreen displays. Financial terms were not disclosed; Touch International is headquartered in Austin, Texas with strategic manufacturing facilities in China and India and will be integrated into the AISG platform to expand HMI and touchscreen capabilities across aerospace, medical, industrial and military end markets.
