Uber Freight Acquires Transplace from TPG Capital for $2.25B

Uber Freight has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Transplace from TPG Capital for approximately $2.25 billion, consisting of up to $750 million in Uber common stock and the remainder in cash. The deal combines Uber Freight's large digitally-enabled carrier network with Transplace's managed transportation and shipper-facing technology to create a scaled end-to-end logistics platform and accelerate Uber Freight's path to profitability.

Uber Acquires Drizly for Approximately $1.1 Billion

Uber Technologies, Inc. has completed its acquisition of Drizly, the North American on-demand alcohol marketplace, for roughly $1.1 billion in stock and cash. Drizly will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary and its marketplace will be integrated into the Uber Eats app while maintaining a separate Drizly experience.

Uber Acquires Routematch

The acquisition combines Uber’s on-demand mobility technology with Routematch’s paratransit, payments, fixed-route tools, and trip-planning capabilities to improve accessibility and expand Uber’s public-transit product offerings.

e& Acquires Majority Stake in Careem Technologies for $400M

Abu Dhabi-based tech group e& (formerly Etisalat) signed a binding agreement with Uber Technologies to acquire a 50.03% majority stake in the newly spun-out Careem Technologies for $400 million. The spinout — which will focus on scaling the Careem super app (food and grocery delivery, digital payments, and other on-demand services) — was announced by Careem; Uber's exact remaining stake in the spinout is not disclosed and the ride-hailing business was reported as still owned by Uber.

Uber Eats Acquires Restaurant Ordering Tech Provider orderTalk

Uber Eats has acquired orderTalk, a restaurant online-ordering and POS-integration technology company originally founded in South Africa and later based in Dallas, Texas. The deal — announced by Knife Capital, which managed the HBD Venture Capital fund that invested in orderTalk — will strengthen Uber Eats' point-of-sale integration capabilities and represents a VC exit for Knife Capital and HBD Venture Capital; terms were not disclosed.

Uber Freight Acquires ScanData Systems from Craftsman Capital

Uber Freight has acquired ScanData Systems, a provider of Parcel Transportation Management System (PTMS) technology, from Craftsman Capital. The acquisition will integrate ScanData’s last-mile and parcel visibility tools into Uber Freight’s TMS to enhance route optimization, carrier flexibility and analytics for shippers and retailers.
