AEM (IGP Portfolio Company) Acquires Renaissance Electronics & Communications

AEM, a San Diego–based designer and manufacturer of mission-critical electronic circuit protection components and a portfolio company of Industrial Growth Partners (IGP), acquired Renaissance Electronics & Communications (and its subsidiary HXI) on February 3, 2022. The deal expands AEM’s high-reliability component offering to include RF and millimeter-wave products, strengthening its position with space and defense customers and enabling cross-selling and geographic expansion.

Industrial Growth Partners (IGP), in partnership with management and certain outside investors, acquired AEM (Holdings) Inc., AEM Group Limited and subsidiaries, creating a new platform investment to accelerate the company's growth. Founders Daniel and Cai Li Chang sold the company but retain a significant minority equity stake; Daniel Chang was named Chairman and Rick Busch was appointed CEO.

Holley Acquires AEM Performance Electronics

The deal expands Holley's electronic control and monitoring product offerings for performance and EV-conversion enthusiasts; Holley expects AEM to contribute pro forma 2021 sales of $26 million.

Micross Acquires Semtech's High-Reliability Discrete Diodes and Assemblies Business

Micross Components, a Behrman Capital portfolio company, has acquired the High-Reliability Discrete Diodes and Assemblies business of Semtech Corporation, expanding Micross' product portfolio and adding manufacturing capacity in Reynosa, Mexico. The deal strengthens Micross' power-management and high-reliability component offerings for aerospace, defense, medical and industrial customers and represents an add-on to Micross' platform under Behrman Capital.

Creation Technologies Acquires IEC Electronics Corp.

Creation Technologies completed the acquisition of IEC Electronics Corp., an electronic manufacturing services (EMS) provider with strengths in aerospace & defense, medical and industrial markets. The deal adds IEC locations in Newark and Rochester, New York and Albuquerque, New Mexico and expands Creation's capabilities with precision machining, interconnect (cable and harness) and analytical laboratory testing services.

AmpliTech Group Acquires Spectrum Semiconductor Materials

AmpliTech Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMPG) has executed a definitive agreement to acquire the assets and operations of Spectrum Semiconductor Materials, Inc., a San Jose–based authorized distributor of semiconductor components. The deal (approximately $8.0M cash plus $1.5M escrow and restricted shares) nearly triples AmpliTech's revenue base, adds a global distribution platform and a record combined order backlog of $11.4M, and is intended to accelerate commercialization of AmpliTech's MMIC chip solutions.
