HCI Equity Partners' Driven Distribution Group Acquires Chicago Parts & Sound; HCI Recapitalizes Tri-State

HCI Equity Partners recapitalized Tri-State Enterprises in November 2023 and launched the HCI-backed platform Driven Distribution Group, which completed the acquisition of the auto parts and accessories distribution business of Chicago Parts & Sound in October 2024. Financial terms were not disclosed; Bob and Jackie Lederer are reinvesting in the platform and Tri-State will remain an operating brand within Driven Distribution. HCI also appointed Matt Johnson as CEO of Driven Distribution Group to lead platform growth and integration.

HCI Equity Partners has acquired Express Packaging, a Newcomerstown, Ohio-based provider of outsourced contract packaging and contract manufacturing services for global consumer brands. Patriot Capital Group provided subordinated debt and an equity investment to support the transaction; Express operates three SQF Level 3 certified facilities in West Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; and Newcomerstown, OH.

GEODIS Acquires Southern Companies to Expand Drayage and Port Services

GEODIS has acquired Southern Companies, a family-owned U.S. drayage provider founded in Miami in 1965 that operates terminals at seven key ports across the Southeast and Gulf. The deal adds more than 80 employees and expands GEODIS' end-to-end supply chain and port operations capabilities in the United States; financial terms were not disclosed.

Hugg & Hall Equipment Company Acquires Southern Material Handling Company

Hugg & Hall Equipment Company, a family-owned industrial and construction equipment dealership based in Little Rock, Arkansas, has acquired Southern Material Handling Company of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The acquisition expands Hugg & Hall’s Toyota Material Handling territory to cover eastern Oklahoma and adds sales, rental, parts and service capabilities to the company’s network.

HCI-Backed SDS Rx Acquires Mission Critical Delivery Solutions

SDS Rx, a last-mile healthcare logistics platform backed by HCI Equity Partners, acquired Mission Critical Delivery Solutions, a non-asset-based logistics management company based in Bangor, Maine. Patriot Capital provided subordinated debt and an equity co-investment to support the add-on acquisition, which expands SDS Rx’s geographic coverage and route density in the long-term care pharmacy market.

H.I.G. Capital Acquires Majority Stake in Capstone Logistics from The Jordan Company

H.I.G. Capital agreed to acquire a majority stake in Capstone Logistics, a Peachtree Corners, Georgia–based third‑party logistics provider, from an affiliate of The Jordan Company. Capstone’s management, led by CEO Steve Taylor, will remain shareholders and TJC will retain a minority stake and reinvest; the deal is positioned to accelerate Capstone’s organic growth and acquisition strategy.
