SAI MedPartners, a consultancy focused on strategic insights and analytics for the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device industries, has acquired PharmaForce International, a Reading, Pennsylvania–based market intelligence and syndicated research firm. The acquisition adds PharmaForce's commercial benchmarking and syndicated research capabilities to SAI's competitive intelligence offerings; SAI is PE-backed by Northlane Capital Partners (which partnered with management to acquire SAI in June 2022).

Otsuka Pharmaceutical Acquires Jnana Therapeutics

Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. will acquire clinical-stage biotech Jnana Therapeutics, making it a wholly owned subsidiary via Otsuka America, Inc. The deal values Jnana at $800 million in upfront cash plus up to $325 million in development and regulatory milestones and is intended to add Jnana's RAPID chemoproteomics platform and lead program JNT-517 (a potential oral PKU therapy) to Otsuka's specialty and autoimmune pipeline.

LeanTaaS Acquires Hospital IQ

GrowerIQ Acquires Ample Organics from Akerna

Toronto-based GrowerIQ has acquired fellow cannabis software provider Ample Organics from U.S.-based Akerna in an all-cash deal that closed in December; financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition brings Ample's seven employees onto GrowerIQ's ~25-person team and combines two seed-to-sale ERP platforms to create what GrowerIQ calls the largest cannabis tech platform in Canada (and a stronger position in Europe).
