MacLean Power Systems Acquires Inertia Engineering & Machine Works

MacLean Power Systems (MPS) has acquired Inertia Engineering & Machine Works, a Stockton, California-based manufacturer of transmission and distribution air break switches. Inertia’s leadership will join MPS, and the acquisition is intended to expand MPS’s product capabilities in grid hardening and fire mitigation while establishing its first West Coast manufacturing facility to better serve U.S. and Canadian utility customers.

MacLean-Fogg Acquires Mallard Manufacturing

Metal Powder Works Acquires K-TIG Advanced Welding Systems

Metal Powder Works (MPW) has merged with and assumed operations of Australian-based K-TIG Advanced Welding Systems in an approximately A$10 million deal, with the combined business to operate under the Metal Powder Works name. The transaction brings together MPW's DirectPowder metal-powder technology and K-TIG's automated welding systems and global distribution network; MPW also announced plans to list on the Australian Stock Exchange under the ticker MPW.

RoMan's Macro Magnetics LLC Acquires Assets of Grand Power Systems

Macro Magnetics LLC, a vehicle formed by RoMan Manufacturing, paid $2 million in a court-supervised sale to acquire the assets of Grand Power Systems after the company entered receivership. Core & Main Acquires Dodson Engineered Products, Inc.

Core & Main, Inc. agreed to acquire substantially all of the assets of Dodson Engineered Products, Inc., a Glenwood Springs, Colorado-based distributor of water, wastewater, storm drainage and irrigation products. The deal expands Core & Main’s footprint in central and western Colorado and brings Dodson’s local customer relationships and product capabilities into Core & Main’s national waterworks distribution network.

The Lawton Standard Co. Acquires Northern Iron & Machine

The Lawton Standard Co. acquired Northern Iron & Machine (NIM), a St. Paul, Minnesota full-service foundry, in a transaction that closed August 12, 2022. The acquisition adds casting size and machining capabilities to Lawton's vertically integrated foundry platform and is intended to expand sourcing options and service offerings for both companies' OEM customers. The seller was led by retiring CEO Scott J. Hamlett.
