GI Partners Acquires Controlling Interest in LightEdge

GI Partners, through its GI Data Infrastructure Fund, has acquired a controlling interest in LightEdge, a Des Moines–based provider of colocation, cloud and managed services. The investment—sourced from GI Partners’ data infrastructure strategy—will support LightEdge’s growth and expand its cloud and colocation capabilities; LightEdge was previously majority‑owned by The Anschutz Corporation.

Oak Hill Capital Acquires Controlling Interest in Greenlight Networks

Oak Hill Capital will acquire a controlling interest in Greenlight Networks through its Oak Hill Capital Partners VI fund and plans to invest up to $300 million to accelerate the fiber-to-the-home expansion across New York and beyond. Greenlight currently serves approximately 80,000 homes, employs about 160 people, and the transaction is expected to close pending New York State Public Service Commission approval.

The acquisition, intended to accelerate FirstLight’s growth and enhance its service capabilities for enterprise and carrier customers across the Northeast, was expected to close in the second half of 2018; financial terms were not disclosed.
