BWT Logistics Acquires International Express Trucking

BWT Logistics, a Bluejay Capital portfolio company, has acquired International Express Trucking (IET), a regional 3PL in North Carolina. The add-on expands BWT’s contract logistics and warehousing footprint in the state; IET’s president Howard Shope will join BWT as Senior Vice President of Operations and retain a meaningful ownership stake. Bluejay Capital financed the transaction with participation from Argosy Private Equity, Southfield Mezzanine, Spring Capital Partners and KeyBank; terms were not disclosed.

Package Express Acquires Guaranteed Express and Central Delivery Systems

Package Express, LLC acquired Dallas-based Guaranteed Express, Inc. and Houston-based Central Delivery Systems, LLC and will combine the businesses under the Package Express brand. The transactions expand Package Express’s expedited same-day and last-mile delivery footprint across the Texas market and support investment in dispatch technology and automation.

CVC-led Consortium to Combine Worldwide Express and GlobalTranz

CVC Capital Partners is leading a consortium (including Providence Equity Partners and PSG) to acquire Worldwide Express and combine it with GlobalTranz, creating a larger technology-driven third-party logistics platform. Ridgemont Equity Partners and management will retain significant stakes in the combined business; the transaction was announced in June 2021 and expected to close in Q3 2021.

Gardewine Group Acquires Westman Courier & Freight

Gardewine Group Limited Partnership has entered into a definitive share purchase agreement to acquire Westman Courier & Freight, a Winnipeg-based regional courier and trucking operator. The deal, expected to close October 1, 2024, expands Gardewine's service network across Manitoba and into northwestern Ontario and gives Westman customers access to Gardewine's broader transportation, logistics and terminal network.

TFI International Acquires CMW Express and FRL Express

Montreal-based TFI International has acquired two Canada-based carriers, CMW Express and its sister company FRL Express, expanding its TL and LTL footprint across Quebec, the Maritimes, Ontario and the eastern U.S. Terms were not disclosed; the deals are described as tuck-in add-ons as TFI continues a spree of smaller regional acquisitions while integrating prior larger deals.

Service Express Acquires Mid-Range to Expand Canadian Footprint

Service Express, a Grand Rapids-based data center and infrastructure solutions provider, has acquired Mid-Range, a managed infrastructure and cloud services provider based in the Greater Toronto Area. The acquisition expands Service Express' presence in Canada and augments its service offerings with Mid-Range's managed infrastructure, cloud hosting, colocation and JD Edwards ERP capabilities.
