Oberalp Group Acquires Evolv

The Oberalp Group, a family-owned Italian outdoor brands company, has acquired Evolv, the U.S.-based climbing shoe brand, from BRS Outdoor Holdings (an investment platform of BRS & Co.). Oberalp will keep Evolv headquartered in Los Angeles and plans to invest to grow the brand in the US and Canada while leveraging Oberalp’s international distribution to expand Evolv in Europe and Asia.

Revo Brands, the parent company of Real Avid and a platform backed by Clearview Capital Fund IV, acquired Outdoor Edge Cutlery Corporation in an add‑on transaction that closed November 4, 2021. Outdoor Edge, a maker of premium knives and hand tools founded by David Bloch in 1988, will remain under the Revo/Vertikal Brands platform with Mr. Bloch continuing to play a key role; terms were not disclosed.

FLEX Capital has acquired Evo IT GmbH, a Vienna-headquartered custom software provider (brands Evolit and Evol.X) serving mobility, energy, public sector and industrial clients. Frankfurt-based investor VR Equitypartner, the majority shareholder since 2019, sold its stake while the founders remain partially invested and the existing management team will continue to lead the company as it pursues geographic expansion in Germany and capability growth (particularly AI).

Equistone-backed global OOH agency Talon has completed two bolt-on acquisitions, acquiring London-headquartered Evolve and Canadian OOH agency Novus Canada. The deals (financial terms undisclosed) add roughly £100m in billings and form part of Talon’s buy-and-build international expansion strategy to strengthen its OOH capabilities and establish a Canadian foothold.
