The non-control capital will help SMG accelerate expansion of its in-theater dining locations across the United States while partnering with founder-CEO Brian Schultz to scale the company.

Sony Pictures Entertainment Acquires Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

Sony Pictures Entertainment has acquired Alamo Drafthouse Cinema; terms were not disclosed. Alamo CEO Michael Kustermann will remain in place and lead SPE's new experiences division, and Alamo will continue to operate 35 cinemas (including Fantastic Fest) with headquarters in Austin, Texas. The seller group included Altamont Capital Partners, Fortress Investment Group and founder Tim League.

Entertainment Studios Acquires 10 Television Stations from MSouth Equity Partners

Investcorp Acquires Vivaticket

Investcorp has signed an agreement to acquire Ticket Holding S.à.r.l. ("Vivaticket") from the company's co-founders and several minority shareholders. Headquartered in Bologna, Italy, Vivaticket is a provider of integrated ticketing software with ~450 employees; Investcorp said it will support the company's international growth both organically and through add-on acquisitions.
