Heniff Transportation Systems Acquires Hagen Johnson Group

Heniff Transportation Systems has acquired Janesville, Wisconsin–based Hagen Johnson Group, adding Hagen Johnson’s food-grade tank truck fleet, kosher tank-cleaning operation, and liquid freight brokerage to Heniff’s corresponding divisions. Terms were not disclosed; the deal excludes Reedsburg-based Korth Transfer. Heniff said the acquisition will support continued growth, technology investment and improved services for customers.

The combination creates a larger bulk liquid and dry bulk transportation provider aimed at expanding geographies, service lines and fleet investment to serve chemical manufacturers and food product companies.

Heniff Transportation Systems, a portfolio company of Olympus Partners, has acquired Coal City Cob Company, Inc., a liquid bulk transportation provider headquartered in Waxahachie, Texas. The transaction — sold by Cotton Creek Capital — expands Heniff's liquid bulk capabilities and geographic footprint, adding over 230 drivers, 500 trailers and multiple terminals including a 27-acre rail-to-truck facility.

Grupo Fertiberia Acquires Van de Reijt

Grupo Fertiberia, a Triton-backed leader in EU crop nutrition, has agreed to acquire Van de Reijt, a long-established fertilizer wholesaler with waterfront bulk terminals in the Netherlands and Belgium. The acquisition strengthens Fertiberia’s distribution and logistics footprint in the Benelux to support sales of its low‑carbon and sustainable crop nutrition solutions; the deal was expected to close in Q1 2023 subject to customary approvals.

Deutsche Post DHL Group Acquires Hillebrand from Cobepa

Deutsche Post DHL Group (DPDHL) has acquired J.F. Hillebrand Group AG from majority shareholder Cobepa and other shareholders in a bolt-on transaction, integrating Hillebrand into DHL Global Forwarding, Freight as "Hillebrand Gori - a DHL company." The deal, signed in August 2021 and closed March 22, 2022 following regulatory approval, was valued at an equity price of €1.5 billion; Hillebrand operates in over 90 countries with more than 2,700 employees and specializes in ocean freight forwarding for beverages and non-hazardous bulk liquids.

Maroon Group LLC has acquired Holland Chemicals, a Burr Ridge, Illinois-based value-added distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients serving personal care, household & industrial cleaning, food, and industrial markets. Holland's management, led by Jonathon Rhodes, will remain in place as the business leverages Maroon's North American footprint, product offering, operational infrastructure, and digital capabilities.
