Rio Tinto Acquires Arcadium Lithium plc

Rio Tinto completed its acquisition of Arcadium Lithium plc on March 6, 2025, in a transaction valued at about $6.7 billion. The deal brings Arcadium's lithium chemicals production (including its Livent subsidiary) into Rio Tinto's portfolio to expand the company's battery-materials and downstream capabilities.
