Charger Investment Partners Acquires CMI Limited Co.

Charger Investment Partners has acquired CMI Limited Co., a Woodstock, Georgia-based designer and manufacturer of shoreline preservation and marine access products, in a transaction announced in January 2023. Heartwood Partners Fund II, LP exited its investment in CMI as part of the sale; financial terms were not disclosed. Charger partnered with CMI management to support the company's next phase of growth.

MSouth Equity Partners Acquires Engineered Products, LLC

MSouth Equity Partners, an Atlanta-based private equity firm, completed the acquisition of Engineered Products (EP), a Greenville, South Carolina-based designer, manufacturer and installer of structural storage and racking solutions that support Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS). MSouth will partner with EP's management team, led by CEO Tommy Sinclair, to support continued growth and investment in infrastructure to capitalize on automation trends in warehousing and distribution.

Engineered Plastics Components Acquires Western Plastics (Kirby Co. Plant)

Engineered Plastics Components, Inc. (EPC) of West Des Moines acquired the Portland, Tennessee injection-molding plant formerly operating as Western Plastics, a dedicated supplier to Kirby Co. The purchase included the plant's real estate and equipment and a long-term supply contract with Kirby; EPC plans to double the Tennessee facility (adding 60,000 sq ft) and install larger molding machines to expand capacity and serve additional OEM and Tier-1 customers.

Springboard Manufacturing (HCPI) Acquires Stack Plastics

Springboard Manufacturing, a portfolio company of HC Private Investments (HCPI), has acquired Stack Plastics, a Menlo Park-based custom plastic injection molder that serves medical device customers. The add-on expands Springboard’s micromolding and medical products capabilities and creates a combined business with facilities in California and Indiana, more than 130 injection molding presses and over 300 employees; terms were not disclosed.

Brixey & Meyer Capital Acquires Hamlett Engineering Sales Co (HESCO) and Lipp American Tank Systems

Brixey & Meyer Capital (BMC) has acquired Hamlett Engineering Sales Co (HESCO) and Lipp American Tank Systems (LATS), two Novi, Michigan–based service providers and process equipment distributors serving municipal water systems and large waste producers. The businesses were acquired from Kevin Livingston and Glenn Hummel, who will continue to lead and remain as owners; BMC says the investment will expand capabilities and accelerate growth.

Harvey & Company Acquires Engineered Medical Systems

Harvey & Company, a private investment firm, has initiated a new platform investment in Engineered Medical Systems (EMS), a Memphis-area contract manufacturer of machined metal instruments and implants for spinal and orthopedic surgery. The investment will support EMS's organic growth, operational improvements and enable the pursuit of complementary add-on acquisitions.
